';">Seth Shapiro is a two-time Emmy® Award winner and an international leader in the development of profitable digital media businesses. He has worked on large and startup digital initiatives with companies, investors and foundations including Comcast, the Walt Disney Company, Intel, Time Warner, Universal Pictures, Showtime, Sun Microsystems, Goldman Sachs, McCann Worldgroup, Tim Kring, Dutch Media Hub, New Zealand T&E, Swedish Public Broadcasting and Betfair UK.

Shapiro is Principal of advisory firm New Amsterdam Media and adjunct professor at the University of Southern California. He is co-founder of Media Valuation Partners and of ARC, a VOD service available in 18,000,000 Comcast homes.

As Head of Production at DIRECTV Advanced Services, Shapiro managed over 20 service launches including the NFL Sunday Ticket Digital Suite and DIRECTV/TiVo, the world's first major DVR platform.

Shapiro is an Executive Committee member of the Television Academy's Interactive Media Peer Group, a member of the Producer's Guild New Media Council, and an Advisor at OVP Venture Partners, the IP Media Expo, 3D World and PICNIC Festival Amsterdam. He is a magna cum laude graduate of New York University and was Adelbert Alumni Scholar at Case Western Reserve University.

 

 

 

Larry Namer, President & CEO, Metan Development Group

 

 

 

An entertainment industry veteran with over 40 years professional experience in cable television, live events and new media, Larry Namer is a founding partner of Metan Development Group (Metan), a venture created to develop entertainment and media specifically for the Chinese marketplace. Mr. Namer is the co-founder of E! Entertainment Television, a company now valued at over $3.5 billion USD, and the creator of several successful companies in the United States and overseas.

Among those companies are Comspan Communications that pioneered Western forms of entertainment in the former Soviet Union and Steeplechase Media that served as the primary consultant to Microsoft’s MiTV for developing interactive TV applications.  Today, he also serves as Senior Advisor, Strategic Development to Eurocinema On Demand, the only 24/7 on demand foreign film channel now available in 36 million homes via cable and satellite in North America.

His vision and direction garnered VCTV several Emmy and Cable ACE award nominations, as well as recognition by Forbes magazine as the national model for local cable television programming. In 1989, he was awarded the prestigious President’s Award from the National Cable Television Association.

 

J.D. Crowley, General Manager, Digital Media, CBS Television Distribution

J.D. Crowley is General Manager of the Digital Media Group at CBS Television Distribution’s “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider”.  He previously served the series as Senior Supervising Producer and was responsible for creating and overseeing the in-house promotion and marketing department.  Winner of multiple Emmy, Promax, Golden Mike, Telly, and Associated Press Mark Twain awards, J.D. was named in 2010 as one of Promax|BDA’s 13 under 30: The Top Next-Gen Marketing Executives.
